Kalamazoo Cops Urge Boycott Of White Rally

Police are urging people in Kalamazoo, Mich., not to participate in a rally against "black gang terrorism" being organized by an Internet talk show host.

Talk show host Hal Turner of North Bergen, N.J., has called for the Aug. 4 protest as a response to reports of alleged assaults by black teenagers against whites, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported Saturday.

But Dan Weston, chief of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, said residents should "ignore his (Turner) rally cry to gather and meet."

The newspaper quoted a news release issued by Turner, who says he has called for several white supremacist organizations to send members to the Michigan city for the rally. Turner also said the rally's purpose is to "tell politicians that everyone is tired of the police having their hands tied by politically correct appointees who fear being called racist for enforcing the law."

The newspaper has reported that in 15 of 21 assault cases, the attacks were allegedly committed against a lone white male by a group of black males.
